Air Wick Life Scents Launch

Air Wick required an innovative in-store trial solution for the launch of the new Life Scents line. Unlike other home fragrances, Life Scents is the first constantly changing fragrance, featuring a 3-dimensional scent technology. To capitalize on this new technology and provide shoppers with an accurate sensory experience, a fragrance compact was created.

  • Objective
    • Create a “fragrance experience” in store. Develop a semi-permanent solution to provide a consistent fragrance for 6-9 months.
  • Design Research & Strategy
    • Multiple options were considered when developing the fragrance vehicle. Diffusers, air puffers, and scent beads were all considered. The fragrance compact was ultimately deemed as the most effective solution. This modular compact system could be incorporated in other displays – including shelf strips, end caps, and club units – and easily be exchanged for seasonal fragrances.
  • Shopper Engagement
    • The fragrance compact allows shoppers to experience the fragrance before purchasing it. A simple call-to-action invites shoppers to lift the lid of the compact and smell the fragrance inside.
  • Retailer Benefit
    • Fragrance bar and individual compacts were customized for individual retailers. The fragrance compact was used in the United States and multiple international markets, including Spain, Portugal, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and Colombia.
